Rudolph...More than a red nose?
Merry Christmas everyone! I know it isn't Christmas yet, but these months are dreary months that deserve some good cheer. Was singing Christmas carols in the shower one day recently and it suddenly occurred to me that actually some songs that sound happy are not exactly happy songs. For example, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Cheerful, jolly song. But sad, deep hidden truths reflecting the reality of the world. A world of discrimination, prejudice, biasness, especially based on appearance. This has been found to be true by academic researchers. So out I went to search for the lyrics of the song to put up on this blog, and as if it was God's will, I found the following site: http://www.phillyburbs.com/christmascarols/rudolph.shtml. This website contains the history of the Christmas carol and coincidentally, it was written by someone who was ostracized. Go to the website to find out more!
