The Ice Cream Gallery

Today I happened to go down to Eastwood Centre and chanced upon a cozy shop called The Ice Cream Gallery. Having read about it in an article on asia1.com.sg, I decided to go in and give it a try. I had a little chat with the owner, Ann, and found out that the most popular ice-cream is Durian (D24). The 3 characters behind the name is probably the reason for its popularity. Naturally, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a cone for a cheap price of $2.30 and literally dug in. It was heaven! It was like sinking your teeth into actual D24 durian. You can even see and taste the long strands of durian flesh like when you are eating durian! The first mouthful, I would say, is the most powerful mouthful because the taste hits you so strongly. However, by the time you get to the end, you get more familiar with the taste, and the marginal utility dropped. But hey, that happens to when you eat durian right? I think it's a durian thing.

Besides Durian, there are many other exotic flavours such as black sesame, Teh Halia, Banana Walnut, Lychee, and many many more! It is really an ice cream gallery! Having spoken to the owner, I realize that the ice cream are all home made daily so that they are kept fresh and tasty when you buy it. Also, the ingredients that go into the ice-cream are top of the range and they don't stinge on that. For $2.30 a cone and $7.90 a tub, I say, why not?

The Ice Cream Gallery can be found at 20, Eastwood Rd, Eastwood Centre, #01-13 S(486442). If you are living within 1.5km, there's also free delivery. Just call 6246 2926. :)
