Reflections on my Cousins' Blogs
Children really grow up fast. It seemed like yesterday when they were little punks rolling around in Mama's house. Jess and Mel, the mushroom heads; Nic and his purple pillow who both liked to sit on my lap and watch cartoons. It's amazing what they are like now. Reading Jess' blog, I can feel the teenage angst in her - stress over schoolwork, over teachers, exams of all sorts, over Man U losses (?!!). I can empathize with Mel who's too nice and constantly being bullied by people in her school. Sometimes I wish I can just take a stick and whack all of them. Poor Mel also refuses to see a doctor for her headache. I had and still have headaches when the weather turns bad. Call it rheumatism/arthritis in the head, if there's such a thing. It was because I slammed my head into many things before since Primary 6 (that's when my brain started deteriorating) - car windows, car ceiling, fridge, bed, people slamming my head (I hate people to touch my head!). You have to rub it real hard to make sure that there's no blood clot. Also, tying my hair gives me a headache. My hair's really thick and heavy, and when I tie it up for prolonged periods, I get this major ache at the top of my head where I knocked previously. Tying up your hair when it's wet gives you a worse headache, and if you tie it tight, it's the worst. Soon, all your hair will start dropping out. And then there's Nic, busy with 'people' and work, and being the cool teenager he is. No more purple pillow, no more cartoons. Life really moves on.
