Save the World
As I was talking to a friend tonight, I suddenly felt like doing something to contribute to society. Prior to my trip to The Netherlands, I never considered "saving the world". I saw myself as someone who will definitely not be in any nonprofit organizations, for I tell myself, "I am a businesswoman", and the only charity I'll do is donating money. Perhaps it was God's will, and definitely a blessing in disguise, that I landed a project totally unrelated to what I asked for (marketing/management in the fashion industry) - a project dealing with sustainable trade and corporate social responsibility in Africa, with a nonprofit organization whose name I can't even pronounce! What the heck are those terms anyway! But now, I'm a convert. I love "sustainable trade" and "CSR" and Africa and Fair Trade!
