Botanic Gardens
Did you know how beautiful the Botanic Gardens is? Yesterday, while making my way out from the inaccessible SMU, I was directed to take the "short-cut" through the Gardens. It was in a world of its own...away from fast-paced urban life so typical of Singapore. As I walked through this beautiful place, I thought of how ignorant I was, how I thought the gardens in Berlin were so beautiful, how Boston Common was such a nice place to hang out, and how lousy Singapore is in this aspect. We have our own Boston Common, where squirrels abound, just that our squirrel is brown, and theirs is grey. For once, people were walking slowly, talking slowly (except for a bunch of Japanese tourists who were jabbering away), looking happy. The insects and birds were all chirping away, swans and ducks were diving for food in the lakes, couples were taking wedding photos on the beautiful lawns and gazebos, children climbing trees, and mothers sitting on low tree branches. It would have been perfect... except for the humidity.

Ralph by Ralph Lauren
Just found a new brand that I like... beautiful country-style clothes for the young. Except that prices are perhaps only affordable to tai-tais and working adults.
