What is love?
So often do we watch movies and think to ourselves what love means and what it means to be in love. The Bible says that love is kind and unselfish, but the movies suggest that love is all-beautiful and falling in love means being with a handsome guy or pretty girl and appreciating the goodness in the other. I have no idea what it means to be in love and I'm scared to be in love. When I'm in love, I get hurt; when I'm in love, bad things happen; when I'm in love, I end up being someone else - someone the other person wants me to be and not who I am. I end up not knowing who I am and what I want anymore. It reminds me of a poem I once read. The poem was about friendship and how the poet became friends with someone whom she thought she had a lot in common with, until she found out that the friend was just mirroring her. Soon they had nothing to talk about and the friendship faded away. Perhaps this is who I am. Merely a mirror. Tonight I also watched a movie, about a girl who broke off 3 engagements because she never felt that the person was the one she wanted to marry. Someone in the movie said, "when you are truly in love, you will be excited at the thought of spending the rest of your life with him". I wonder if that's what really happens. Is that love?
